Minneapolis, MN (February 6, 2019) – UCare today announced the expansion of the Healthy Savings program to all of its more than 380,000 Medicare and Medicaid members in Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin. The program – which is currently available to UCare’s individual and family plan members – makes healthier eating more affordable by providing discounts on healthier foods and beverages.
“Providing our members a path for the best health of their lives is our top priority,” said Ghita Worcester, UCare Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Chief Marketing Officer. “Healthy Savings is a proven program that will improve nutrition of our members and their families while saving them money.”
With Healthy Savings, members save up to $200 per month on healthier foods, including fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meats, whole grains and more. Offers are redeemed in-store through a scan of the Healthy Savings card or mobile app at grocery store checkout, as member accounts are preloaded with savings, without the clipping or downloading of coupons.
UCare members can shop at any participating grocery retailer, which includes Cub Foods®, Coborn’s, Cash Wise®, Festival Foods®, Kowalski’s, Lunds & Byerlys, Hornbacher’s® and Mackentun’s.
“Healthy Savings has already saved members nearly $2.5 million on healthier foods and beverages,” said Chad Kelly, Chief Marketing Officer of Solutran, the company behind Healthy Savings, “and we’re pleased that UCare is expanding the program so even more members can save money and eat healthier.”
Members can register their card and view their account details at healthysavings.com/ucare. The Healthy Savings mobile app is available at no cost on the App Store® or Google Play™.
The technology behind the Healthy Savings program is powered by the S3 Solutions Suite™ developed by Solutran, Inc., a Minnesota-based technology company specializing in electronic benefit transfer and payment processing solutions.
