Minneapolis, MN (Jun 14, 2017) — Solutran, the leading provider in Smart Card Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT), is pleased to announce it is processing EBT payments for the New Mexico, Cherokee Nation, and Pueblo of Isleta WIC programs. After years of using in-house EBT technology, New Mexico, Cherokee Nation, and Pueblo of Isleta implemented Solutran’s best-in-class Smart Card EBT solution and started processing transactions earlier this month.
“We are thrilled to have accomplished this milestone,” said Sarah E. Flores-Sievers, New Mexico WIC program director. “Working with the Solutran team fostered a partnership of open communication which provided greater understanding in delivering on our requirements.”
Supported on the advanced technology S3™ EBT platform, the Solutran Smart Card EBT system is designed with an understanding of WIC programs and the current needs of an ever-evolving industry including a simple shopping experience for families and faster payment method for the programs retailers.
“We enjoy working with partners like New Mexico, Cherokee Nation, and Pueblo of Isleta,” said Barry Nordstrand, CEO of Solutran. “It is a rewarding experience to give these programs a solution that fits their needs.”
In 2016, Solutran processed over 17 million EBT transactions representative of nearly $500 million in food purchased at more than 2,500 retailers.
