Minneapolis, MN (Oct 31, 2017) — Starting this month, Coborn’s®, Cash Wise®, Marketplace Foods™ and Kowalski’s Markets are partnering with Healthy Savings to offer healthier foods at an affordable price. Healthy Savings, a program sponsored by health plans, government entities and employers, provides members with savings of over $50 each week on foods qualifying in the top 1/3 of healthy items in the typical grocery store.
Members can save an average of 25% on items such as fresh fruits, vegetables, milk, eggs, lean meats, whole-grain breads, cereals, juices and beans offered from over 200 brands. The savings are available at any of the Coborn’s, Cash Wise, Marketplace Foods and Kowalski’s locations, which have joined the stores already participating including Cub®, Lunds & Byerlys®, Hornbacher’s® and Rainbow® Foods. Coborn’sDelivers/Twin Cities and Kowalski’s On the Go are not yet connected to the program, but may be in the future.
Consumers shop for the promoted healthy items at participating grocery stores, scan a barcode at checkout and save instantly.
“Healthy Savings allows our customers to save on healthier items at the grocery store and complements our current health and wellness initiatives. This includes access to a registered dietitian, nutritional awareness and recipes through our Good Foods for Good Health program.” said Deb Kowalski of Kowalski’s Markets.
“At Coborn’s, Cash Wise and Marketplace Foods, our vision is to inspire happiness, healthy living and simplicity, one guest at a time. By partnering with Healthy Savings, we believe we are offering our customers all three of these key attributes that consumers today are looking for,” said Dennis Host, Vice President of Marketing for Coborn’s, Inc.
“As the Healthy Savings program expands across the country, it is rewarding to have continual growth where it started, right here in the Midwest,” said Chad Kelly, chief marketing officer of Solutran, the parent company of Healthy Savings.
